Hello, wanted to share NCMS COVID protocols for tomorrow's home basketball game. We are still limited to 2 fans per athlete because of the capacity of our gym. Please be sure your athlete has updated their list with Mr. Walker so that the correct spectators will be allowed in the gym. As a reminder, masks are required far all spectators, and we ask that fans leave after their athlete's respective game. If you have questions or need to update the priority spectator list, please email Mr. Walker at kwalker@nebcityps.org
Thank you! Go Pioneers!
This link will send you to the full document of procedures.

Today was our Solar Cooker Competition! ☀️ Students did an excellent job of constructing cookers that would reflect and absorb light and heat. 💥 We want to thank our local Pizza Hut for donating pizza boxes towards our competition. 🍕 Students used them as a baseline design for their cooker and added materials to help it absorb and hold heat! 🤓 Very proud of this group!!

Hello, Girls Basketball families. Just a quick reminder that today's game is being played in Beatrice starting at 4:00pm with C first, followed by B then A games. Masks are required, and Beatrice will have a specific seating area for away fans. If you have any questions please feel free to contact the Middle School or email Mr. Walker at kwalker@nebcityps.org
Good luck tonight! Go Pioneers!

Thanks to our local McDonald’s for donating free food to our weekly winners! 🍔🍟🥤

Hello, basketball fans. Just a heads up, Falls City has two basketball teams: a "B" team, and an "A" team. Coaches have been made aware of this earlier in the week and have planned for not having three games tonight, but will be doing their best to have all players get ample time tonight. The games will go in B then A order, and B is slated to begin at 4:30pm. Same requirements for attendance (2 spectators per athlete, can be household members or grandparents), masks are required, and please do your best to sit 6 feet apart from other households. Appreciate everything and all of the flexibility you have endured. We will see you later this evening! Go Pioneers!

The NSAA has released some new information regarding attendance at school events. We are now allowed to admit grandparents into games outside of the "household" members. With that, we are still required to only allow 25% capacity. So, we are still limited to only 2 fans per athlete, but those fans can now include grandparents. I know this is difficult, but the attendance capacity is a very strict rule not just a guideline. Please feel free to contact Mr. Walker if there needs to be an update to your list for tonights game. The C game is slated to begin at 4:15pm, Go Pioneers!

Good morning! I would like to share some information about todays "A" game in Platteview: The game will begin today at 4:00pm and the Platteview Junior High gym (please enter through the front doors). Our students will be released from school at 2:30pm and the bus will depart at 2:45pm (if they are at home, please have them at the school by 2:35pm). Masks are required, 2 spectators per athlete, social distancing of 6' between family units, and admission fees are $3 adults and $2 students at the door. Please contact the middle school if you have any questions! Good luck tonight and Go Pioneers!

Hello, Pioneers. Because of incoming weather and early morning travel, tomorrow's "A" team basketball tournament has been postponed until Monday December 14th. Because of this change, the tournament is now a single elimination tournament that will be played in two different locations. Nebraska City will play against Ralston on Monday at Platteview Junior High School starting at 4pm. If we win, we will play Platteview at 5:15pm in Platteview, and the championship game will be played in Plattsmouth. Thank you all for your patience and understanding with all of these changes, I know it is not easy. If you have any questions please feel free to contact the middle school.
Go Pioneers!

Congrats to this week’s Staff Shout-Out winner, Mrs. Campbell! She is recognized for being an advocate for all of our students. 🍎 We especially enjoy having her in sixth grade. She is kind, patient, and fun. ☀️ Students know that they can ask her for help and that she cares about them. 💕 Thanks for all you do, Mrs. Campbell!
Special thanks to our local McDonald’s for donating free treats to our winners! 🍔🍟🍦

Hello Pioneer basketball families. Wanted to reach out about tonights basketball games. As many know, we have multiple events happening at the middle school tonight (band concerts and basketball games). To allow students to participate in both, we have decided to make the C game a running clock, and roll right into the following games. We are still asking that only 2 household members attend the games, and to please depart at the completion of your athletes game to allow other fans to watch. I appreciate everyone's flexibility this season and know that we are doing our best to give our students a great experience amongst a difficult time.
See you tonight! Go Pioneers!

Good evening basketball families. I wanted to share procedures and protocols for tomorrows game in Plattsmouth. A few key points, Plattsmouth is allowing 2 household fans per athlete, masks are required, and spectators will sit in the green boxes marked in the stands. The link will give you a full description of their protocols. If you have any questions please feel free to contact Mr. Walker at the middle school tomorrow or at kwalker@nebcityps.org

Hello, boys basketball families. As a reminder, today practice will continue right after school. Those athletes that are at home from school today, please be sure to come in to practice in the front door of the school. Also, please know that new procedures have been put in place for events that will start tomorrow. Athletes are only allowed 2 household spectators for home games. I will gather those names from the players today at practice. Also linked to this text are the NSAA COVID guidelines, Trailblazer guidelines, and NCMS guidelines. Please become familiar with the NCMS guidelines for tomorrow contest vs Ralston. We will clear the gym after each game (C, B, A), and then allow fans to enter for the next contest. If you have any questions please feel free to contact Mr. Walker at the middle school or email him at kwalker@nebcityps.org

Hello, this is Kaleb Walker the Dean of Students and Activities Director at NCMS. I am reaching out to all of the male students today to remind the 7th and 8th grade boys that basketball practice is starting this Wednesday the 24th at 3:45pm in the middle school gym. Although we are in the Orange tier, we are still able to have all basketball players report to practice even on their “home” day of school, so players that are not physically in school are able to attend practice. Players reporting to practice on their home day will need to enter the main school doors at 3:40pm to allow students leaving the building to dismiss and temperature checks will then take place as they enter the building. Now that NCPS is operating under the Orange Tier, all athletes and coaches will be required to wear masks throughout practice and any time on school grounds. At this time 6th grade players will not be allowed to practice with the 7th and 8th grade teams but I will be pushing out information regarding Nebraska City Recreation opportunities for those 6th graders interested in playing basketball. I hope everyone is enjoying their time off and if you have any questions please feel free to contact the middle school. Go Pioneers!

Quick reminder: Volleyball "A" team is leaving tomorrow morning from the middle school at 7:15am for Beatrice, try to be at the school by 7:10am at the latest dressed and ready to go. Hello volleyball family. A few things about next weeks Middle School Volleyball game on 9/28/20 in Platteview starting at 4pm. They use an electronic ticketing service for all of their contests that MUST be purchased in advance. They have allotted 58 total tickets to Pioneer fans. With the number of girls on the team, this is not a lot per player. I am asking you to limit your attendance to no more than 2 people and try to have only one person watch each player (even then some will not be able to attend) as a way to have at least one person watch their athlete. Here is the link to the online ticketing https://phs.springfieldplatteview.org/Tickets-and-Activity-Cards , be sure to select "Junior High volleyball vs. Nebraska City" and use the code visitorpcvb . If you have questions please feel free to contact the middle school. Go Pioneers!
