Our school district recently submitted data to the Nebraska Department of Education related to Summer 2022 Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) funds.  You are receiving this message because your school-age student qualified for Summer 2022 P-EBT funds and was included in the upload list. Each school-age student who qualified for funds will receive a one-time payment of $391. School-age students qualify to receive the funds based on these two conditions: 1. They were enrolled in the school on the last day of the 2021-22 school year (this includes graduating seniors and does not include children entering kindergarten in August 2022); and 2. They were eligible for Free or Reduced-price meals in School Year 2021-22 or became eligible during the covered summer period between May 31, 2022 and August 13, 2022.

Qualifying children in childcare were issued Summer 2022 P-EBT funds directly to their SNAP EBT cards on December 8, 2022. Please refer to the DHHS FAQ document linked below for more information on childcare P-EBT benefits.

Households will receive Summer 2022 P-EBT funds in one of the two following ways:

  • Funds will be issued to a pre-existing P-EBT card. This applies to households who have received P-EBT funds for previous rounds, including School Year 21-22.
  • A new P-EBT card will be sent to the address we have on file for your household.

Funds will be issued to all pre-existing cards on March 16, 2023.  New P-EBT cards will be sent to households in waves starting on March 16, 2023, and are expected to arrive within 5 to 10 business days from the shipping date. Each household should receive a single card that includes benefits for all qualifying students. Upon receipt of a new card, activation is completed by phone or web and uses the residence zip code and student’s date of birth in eight-digit format (example: date of birth August 22, 2015 (08/22/2015) would be entered as 08222015). A household with multiple students receiving benefits is encouraged to try all student’s dates of birth until successful activation (the NDE does not know which date of birth is assigned to the card).

Households NOT wishing to utilize these funds are encouraged to discard P-EBT cards or leave funds unused on pre-existing cards.
